Shy Carter, Cole Swindell, & David Lee Murphy On Their Project Together

Shy Carter recently released a collaboration featuring Cole Swindell and David Lee Murphy. All three artists stopped by The Bobby Bones Show to talk about how their project came together, plus each of them performed a song.

"Beer With Friends" is a song that Carter co-wrote. He said it was one of those songs that just came to him and the co-writers in the studio. He had Murphy out at his studio with him when the song initially came together. Fellow country artist Kenny Chesney also helped with the production. Carter says as things started coming together they knew they needed to get Swindell on the project as well. The song is a party anthem and all three of them were in agreeance when talking about the party music video for the song set to release soon.

While Carter is on the rise as a new artist in country music, he's no stranger to the genre. He's written several songs that country fans already know and love. One of them being one of Keith Urban's recent hit songs "God Whispered Your Name." Carter was a co-writer on the song along with some other writers, including one being his brother. Carter says the song just kind of came together and flowed like it was coming from God. The point of the song is to share how special it is when that one person comes along to help you through life. Carter's manager is also Urban's manager, so that connection helped Carter get the song to Urban.

Swindell has been in the game for awhile, but's so happy to be back in person for shows again. While admitting that the virtual and zoom stuff was an amazing experience, being able to experience human interaction was on another level. He also admitted that his first show back, Panama City's Beach Big Festival, he had a lot of anxiety because of not performing in front of a crowd for so long. But when he heard the fans sing back "You Should Be Here," all was well again.

Murphy has been focusing on writing on a lot of songs lately. But that's nothing new for Murphy, who was the sole writer of one of his biggest hits "Dust On The Bottle." He admits he is still making money off of that song.

While they were in studio, each artist performed a song. Carter performed an acoustic version of the song he co-wrote "God Whispered Your Name," Swindell performed an unreleased song "Some Habits," and Murphy performed an acoustic version of one of his big hits "Everything's Gonna Be Alright."
