Why Tenille Arts Shows Up For Love In Her Song, ‘Somebody Like That’

In her song “Somebody Like That,” Tenille Arts sings, “the real thing won’t be easy; it may take a while.” It turns out, there is a lot of personal truth behind her lyrics.

In a recent interview with Cody Alan, Tenille credits her mom and dad for showing her what true love really means.

“Growing up, they showed us the good times, and they showed us the not so great times,” says Cody's Next Women Wednesday Artist of January. “A relationship takes work.”

“Growing up, watching the celebrity couples, or fairytales, or whatever it is, you just think, “Oh, it must be great all of the time.” I think that the truth of it is that the greatest relationships have struggles, and that’s what makes them so great.

“You get through it together, and you build that trust in that great relationship.”

With her single, “Somebody Like That,” skyrocketing up the country charts, Tenille takes a moment to list the things that can go wrong with love but then pivots to the promise of discovering, accepting, and showing up for true love.
