We Could Be Facing a Chicken Wing Shortage

We've experienced a lot of shortages over the past year, but this one has nothing to do with the pandemic, or even the ship that got stuck in the Suez Canal, this shortage is being credited to the winter storms that hit Texas earlier this year. It's caused the price of chicken wings to increase from about a dollar a pound to three dollars a pound. Lots of restaurants are also still experiencing higher takeout volumes than they used to, and chicken wings seem to be a popular takeout item. Restaurant owners and managers say they're not seeing a shortage in other chicken parts, like chicken breasts or tenders, but the wings are becoming more scarce.
