Why Fewer Babies Are Born on Christmas Day

Personally, I actually know several people born right around Christmas, like my Dad whose birthday is the 24th and my neighbor's daughter on the 26th, but apparently there are actually fewer people born on Christmas Day, the 25th! Turns out this has to do with Doctors not wanting to schedule C-sections or labor inductions during the Holidays! They will usually wait til after the holidays are over for these types of scheduled labors. Obviously, babies can still make their appearances naturally on this day, but with not scheduling it makes the overall number of babies born a little bit lower.
