It's probably happened to you before, you have a gift card to a store you may not normally go to, or you're making a special trip just to use the card. You don't want to waste the gift card on something small or mediocre, or that you would normally spend money on anyway because hey, it's a gift! But, that can lead to spending over the amount on the gift card! No big deal if it's just a couple bucks, right? Well, according to a new survey it's waaaay over the amount of the gift card! In fact, 74 percent of shoppers end up spending an average of $54 more that the gift card value! Pretty much means the thoughtful gift you received ends up costing you money! But, if you're a shopping addict like me, it doesn't really matter! We'll take any excuse to shop!
