A recent nation wide survey of teenagers found that about a fourth of them are afraid to learn to drive and actually drive so much so that it's keeping them from getting their drivers license right when they turn 16! The study suggests one reason for the fear is that their parents are anxious about letting their teens loose in the car and that anxiety is making the kids nervous too. My thoughts? Every parent in the history of driving is worried about their kids having that independence and responsibility, but you just have to teach them the best you can and hope for the best! This is coming from someone who is not a parent, but was afraid to drive as a teen and had parents that forced me to practice and learn and I am so grateful now!
