Old Dominion played a surprise pop-up show on Wednesday evening (August 27) at the bandâs bar in Nashville, Tennessee.
The reigning Country Music Association and Academy of Country Music Vocal Group of the Year took the stage at Odieâs, located in Nashvilleâs Midtown neighborhood. The group â made up of Matthew Ramsey, Trevor Rosen, Whit Sellers, Geoff Sprung, and Brad Tursi â performed career-spanning favorites and songs from their latest studio record, Barbara, which arrived on August 22. Barbara follows Meat and Candy (2015), Happy Endings (2017), Old Dominion (2019), Time, Tequila & Therapy (2021) and Memory Lane (2023).
âThese are our songs, so they should be pulled from our lives. You donât realize as youâre writing necessarily, but when we listened to these 13 songs, we all realized: itâs our most personal record ever,â Old Dominion previously said of Barbara. The 13-track album includes âMaking Good Time,â âWater My Flowers,â âMe Most Nights,â âTalk Country,â âLate Great Heartbreakâ and more. The band added when the album debuted: âThis is the most united weâve been as a band, from the writing and recording to how we feel about the final product. We are so excited to finally share it with you!â
Odieâs opened earlier this year at 1919 Division St. Itâs one of many bars opened by an artist in Music City, though many of them are located downtown. Old Dominion said the Midtown neighborhood has âplayed such a role in the history of our band. âŚItâs an important neighborhood for not only upcoming artists and writers but also for locals and visitors who want a good place they know they can go and have a good time. Odieâs will be that neighborhood bar for us all.â
