Watch Keith Urban Cover Iconic Jo Dee Messina Anthem With Surprise Guest

Keith Urban introduced a surprise guest to the stage — and teased his upcoming competition show — to cover an iconic 90s anthem by Jo Dee Messina during a recent concert in Denver, Colorado.

Urban is the headlining artist on The Road, a soon-to-premiere CBS series executive produced by Blake Shelton and Yellowstone’s Taylor Sheridan. A dozen contestants serve as Urban’s opening acts as they ā€œnavigate the gritty and unforgiving life of a touring musician,ā€ CBS previously stated. ā€œRedneck Womanā€ hitmaker Gretchen Wilson joined the show as the ā€œtour manager,ā€ and other to-be-announced country artists will make appearances throughout the competition.

Urban said the show is ā€œunlike anything you’ve ever seen,ā€ as he told his audience about The Road at a recent stop on his headlining tour. The ā€œHigh and Alive World Tourā€ includesĀ Chase Matthew,Ā Alana SpringsteenĀ andĀ Karley Scott Collins.Ā Find the list of tour stops here. Urban introduced Nashville, Tennessee-based singer and The Road contestant Adam Sanders to the stage.
