Lee Brice joined Grammy Award winners for KING & COUNTRY on the heartfelt ballad “Checking In,” the Christian pop duo’s sophomore single from their forthcoming Unsung Hero biopic premiering this spring. The emotional collaboration and its accompanying music video released on Friday (February 2). for KING & COUNTRY teased “never-before-seen footage from the film,” in the music video, and warned viewers to “grab your tissues, family.”
“I’m so excited to see what’s about to happen. I’m worried that I can’t even get through it. We might have an emotional performance,” Brice said in a video posted to Instagram on Thursday (February 2). The duo — made up of Australian brothers Joel and Luke Smallbone — and Unsung Hero unveiled a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the making of the music video, hinting that Brice might “shed a tear or two,” during the performance.
Unsung Hero “follows the family's mother, Helen Smallbone, as she uses her faith to hold the family of nine together by turning struggles into an adventure for her children,” the biopic’s synopsis reads on IMDb. Joel Smallbone wrote and directed the film with Richard L. Ramsey. He also stars in the film alongside Daisy Betts, Kirrilee Berger, Nashville’s Jonathan Jackson and others.
