Carrie Underwood will join Blake Shelton, Shawn Mendes, Alessia Cara, Jennifer Lopez and more of the music community's best and brightest to honor Elvis Presley, the King of Rock N' Roll in NBC's upcoming Elvis All-Star Tribute special Sunday night!
According to an interview she provided iHollywoodTV, she explained her role in the show and what it means to her to be included in the special.
Well I'm performing 'How Great Thou Art' and 'You'll Never Walk Alone' with Yolanda Adams. We are kind of in charge of the gospel part of Elvis' music and his special. I'm honored to be in that because that's something that I do as well in my music and that's one thing that I love about Elvis is, he was the King of Rock N' Roll but there was so much country in what did and he had the gospel thing too. I feel like he's somebody that the rest of us just want to model ourselves after so we can do those different sides of ourselves...he's kind of the one that paved the way, and again was just a genre bending artist.

According to People, the intent of the event is to recreate Presley's iconic '68 Comeback Special. 'The Voice' judge Blake Shelton is slated to host the musical night and many more artists from different genres and backgrounds will perform. In addition to those mentioned above, appearances from Kelsea Ballerini, Dierks Bentley, John Legend, Little Big Town, Post Malone, Ed Sheeran, Keith Urban, Mac Davis, John Fogerty, Josh Groban, Adam Lambert, Pistol Annies and Darius Rucker are also scheduled to take place.
Priscilla Presley, Elvis' former wife, will appear in the form of rare footage and interview clips and his daughter Lisa Marie Presley will also have a special appearance.
Additionally, the 'Hound Dog' singer's The Best of the '68 Comeback Special album will be released in digital and physical formats in conjunction with the airing of NBC's Elvis All-Star Tribute. The record will feature 15 remastered Elvis performances from the original 1968 broadcast and three original studio performances inspired by the upcoming special.
