Walmart to Require All Customers Wear Masks

The world's largest retailer will not require all customers to wear masks upon entering their stores. The change will start next week. Walmart is following in the steps of other national chains like Starbucks, Best Buy, and Costco among others. While there is still no federal mandate to wear a mask, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention state that everyone "should wear a cloth face cover when they have to go out in public" and that "face coverings are meant to protect other people." It appears that retailers hesitated to implement these rules earlier out of fear of angering or losing customers who refuse to wear them, and the stress it will put on employees to enforce these rules.
