Guy Sells His "Fanhood" After Being Let Down by The Knicks Too Many Times

Evan Perlmutter had been a lifelong New York Knicks fan but was so fed up with them losing season after season that he decided he needed to find a new team. So he auctioned his "fanhood" off on Ebay!

He actually got someone to pay him to be a fan of their favorite team...and they payed him A LOT of money! $3,450 to be exact. The "winning" bidder, James Riedel, thought the money would be worth it because it would make good content for his YouTube channel. Riedel is a Los Angeles Lakers fan, so now Perlmutter is too. He agreed to not only root for The Lakers but to also go to at least two of their games this season, one home and one away. Plus, he placed a $500 bet on the Lakers to pas their projected over-under win total this upcoming season. (I actually have no idea what that means because I know nothing about sports or gambling so definitely click the link in the tweet below to read the article if you want to know more!)

Although this story seems pretty hilarious to me, The Knicks were not amused. They issued this statement: "We're sure our millions of loyal Knicks fans won't mind losing this attention-grabbing gentleman. We remain focused on the upcoming season -- with a hard-working team that is proud to represent New York and its dedicated fans."
