Entire Police Department In Texas Town Quarantined Over COVID-19 Exposure

A single positive COVID-19 test forced a small Texas town to put its entire police force in quarantine. After an officer with the Kemah Police Department tested positive earlier in the week, officials in the town of 1,700 people ordered every police officer and all city hall employees to get tested.

The Galveston County Sheriff’s Office sent deputies to help out and ensure that the residents of Kemah had emergency services.

The police station and city hall were both closed so they could be disinfected. Officials said that all 12 officers on the force would have to quarantine until their test results came back. Officials did not say if anybody else had contracted the virus, but some officers have returned to work after their tests came back negative.
