Jason Aldean Meets Route 91 Survivor At 2018 iHeartRadio Music Festival

Jason Aldean took the stage at our 2018 iHeartRadio Music Festival on Friday (Sept. 21) at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. It was an emotional evening for the country music star. Almost a year after the tragic attack on the 2017 Route 91 Harvest music festival- Aldean was on stage when the shooting took place - he returned to Las Vegas to perform once again.

Not only did Aldean pay tribute to the first responders who rushed to the scene last year, he also met with a fellow survivor backstage. Aldean connected with Melissa Wall, a country music fan who traveled to Las Vegas in October 2017 to attend Route 91 Harvest, and it was a truly special moment for both of them.

Wall was in attendance at our 2018 iHeartRadio Music Festival with her aunt Lisa Barnard and some friends. For wall, this was the perfect way to return to Las Vegas after experiencing such a traumatic event. A big part of that, of course, was the kindness and generosity of Aldean.

Aldean always makes a special effort to remember those who were lost in the senseless tragedy, as well as lift up those who were injured. He traveled to Arizona following Route 91 to visit a woman named Jovanna Calzadillas who was seriously injured during the attack
