A 17-year-old student at Joplin High School in Missouri was "mortified" after she was kicked out of class for a dress code violation. According to USA Today, Kelsey Anderson was told by her teacher that her shirt was inappropriate for "plus-sized" girls and that she "bustier women need to wear clothing that cover their cleavage." To add salt to her wounds, the teacher allegedly said, in front of the entire class, that "smaller busted women could get away with more than larger busted women."

The story went viral after Kelsey's mother posted the story to Facebook, along with photos of her daughter's attire.

Over 60,000 people shared the story, which details her meeting with a principal and counselor about the incident. She asked to have her daughter removed from the teacher's class but was denied. Her mother's biggest gripe is that her daughter "was missing out on an education while we were all sitting in a room discussing her boobs." 

As a result of the incident the family is taking legal action against the school.
